Ash of Gods: Redemption is a turn-based RPG built around three protagonists confronting the return of the reapers, a centuries-old menace once dismissed as folklore. Its story responds to decisions made both on and off the battlefield, and important characters can die without ending the journey. Instead, the narrative carries on with those losses and earlier choices shaping what follows, giving the campaign a consequential, evolving structure.
Battles combine turn-based strategy with collectible-card-game elements. Character skills and classes shape tactical options, while accumulated cards grant powerful abilities that can change the course of a fight. There are no random dice rolls for hit chances or attack strength, so outcomes depend on class skills and how players use limited card supplies. The design also makes risk a practical consideration: players may spend health on a desperate attack or field a smaller team in exchange for better cards and quicker rounds.
The game also offers PvP, where players challenge one another and compete on leaderboards, alongside its story-driven single-player format. The adaptive AI, which adjusts to a player's style, adds another dimension to its combat design without changing the campaign's focus on consequential decisions.
