As Dusk Falls is an interactive drama about two families whose lives become entangled across three decades. Its story begins in 1998, after a robbery goes wrong in small-town Arizona, and follows characters facing betrayal, sacrifice and the consequences of earlier generations’ mistakes. The narrative is presented across two books, with family relationships and survival at its center.
The game’s choices shape characters’ fates, and replaying the story can reveal different outcomes and nuances behind earlier decisions. Rather than conventional animated scenes, it presents digitally rendered actor performances in an art style designed to resemble a motion graphic novel. That combination gives the drama a distinctive visual form while keeping decisions and relationships central to play.
As Dusk Falls supports solo play as well as cooperative play for up to eight people, locally, online or in a mix of the two; a companion app lets players vote on choices using a phone or tablet. This shared decision-making format adds a social dimension to a story built around competing values, while the single-player option also suits players who want to make the choices themselves.
