Aragami 2 casts the player as one of the last warriors of a people afflicted by a supernatural curse. The Aragami wield Shadow Essence, a power tied to the shadows, as they take on assignments across the valley to sustain their village and free kin held by invading armies. That rescue-and-survival premise gives the missions a purpose beyond simply eliminating enemies.
Stealth is the central toolset: players can move between covers, use powers with agility, and choose stealth kills or non-lethal takedowns. Combat is framed as a deliberate risk, with skill-based encounters described as high-risk and high-reward. Character development adds another layer, letting players craft weapons and armor and improve their warrior with abilities and shadow powers. The blend of evasion, takedowns and consequential combat makes the Aragami’s supernatural identity part of how missions are approached.
The game supports solo play as well as online co-op, with an assassin squad of up to three players. Its broader aim is to protect the Rashomon Valley, confront the curse and uncover how the Aragami became a legend.
