Apokalypsis casts you as a capable pilot in the Alpha-Draconian army, sent to take part in an attack on Earth. Instead, you rebel and set out alone to strike back at your former allies, destroy their mothership, and reach an underground base on their home planet. The premise makes your damaged robot and its risk of fatal overheating part of the mission’s pressure: this is a one-pilot retaliation against a vast force, not a squad-based campaign.
Combat combines aiming and movement with a resource loop. Destroying enemies supplies resources to heal damaged parts of your robot, while random bonus drops offer upgrades such as greater resistance, faster firing, or pods with varied skills. Those drops demand care: shoot one and you lose its benefit. Randomized levels and enemies, along with Normal, Hard, and Apocalypse difficulty settings, shape the action. The listed campaign spans four areas, with a boss fight after each area before progression continues.
As a single-player action game, Apokalypsis is built around an individual run through its areas rather than shared sessions.
