ANVIL Playtest is a playtest associated with ANVIL, a multiplayer co-op, top-down sci-fi roguelike action shooter. The full game casts players as Breakers, agents sent to investigate alien Vaults scattered across the universe. This is the game’s premise and design context, not a guarantee that every feature described for ANVIL appears in the playtest.
In ANVIL, expeditions lead through galaxies made up of random planets and distinctive boss monsters. Breakers fight creatures, open Vaults and collect relics that can strengthen their ability to survive and battle. The game’s combat-focused setup pairs cooperative action with roguelike variation, making exploration and encounters central to its design.
Loadouts add another layer of variety: the full game describes more than 100 randomly generated artifacts and dozens of weapons, with different combinations supporting varied playstyles. Breakers gain experience during battles and can be rebuilt after destruction, while an Operator companion offers information through interactions rather than direct combat assistance. Playtest content may differ from the full game’s described design.
