Amerzone - The Explorer’s Legacy casts you as a young journalist sent to a remote, troubled country to retrieve the last egg of the mythical Great White Birds. The land’s history includes years of dictatorship, while its strange wildlife and plants make the expedition feel as much like an investigation as a trek. The story also asks you to uncover what happened to the birds and the country they call home.
Progress depends on curiosity and observation: you search environments for clues, decipher documents and solve puzzles as you follow the trail. A distinctive companion is the hydraflot, a fictional craft that travels through both water and air, helping you face hazards on the way to Amerzone’s heart. The game pairs these investigative tasks with exploration of unusual locations and a story shaped by the overlap of past and present.
This is a single-player adventure, so its play format centers on one person following the journalist’s expedition rather than coordinating with other players. The game is a remake of the 1999 adventure, honoring Benoît Sokal’s blend of realism and poetry while presenting a new experience of its world.
