ALTF4 puts players in control of a somewhat clumsy knight trying to cross trap-filled terrain. Its premise is straightforward, but success depends on reflexes: the route is designed to make reaching the goal anything but easy. The game’s action-adventure framing centers on overcoming hazards rather than on a more elaborate story.
Its defining design choice is that there is no save system. A failed attempt means facing the challenge again, while the frequent deaths are framed as encouragement to try a different approach and improve. The traps and irritating terrain are central obstacles, with exciting background music adding to the run. Clearing the game can then lead to a further goal: attempting to finish it in one go.
ALTF4 is listed as both single-player and multiplayer, with shared or split-screen PvP categories and Remote Play Together support.
