Alien Swarm: Reactive Drop is a top-down action game built around tactical cooperation against alien threats. Its design expands on Alien Swarm with new campaigns, maps, enemies, weapons and game modes, while Steam Workshop support opens the door to community-made maps and challenges. That mix gives the game a mission-based foundation with room for varied community scenarios.
In co-op, teams of up to eight players tackle missions from an overhead perspective. Challenges modify the game in ways likened to Mutations in Left 4 Dead 2, while the expanded alien roster includes Half-Life 2 antlion guards. New weapons such as the Bulldog, Devastator and Combat Rifle add further options; the game also supports single-player with improved bots across its official maps.
Reactive Drop also makes room for direct competition, with Deathmatch, Gun Game, Instagib and Team Deathmatch listed among its PvP modes. Steam Workshop support, leaderboards for fastest mission completions and more than 100 achievements round out a design that combines cooperative campaigns, custom challenges and competitive matches. The result is not just a co-op shooter, but a game structured around several distinct ways to play.
