Airships: Conquer the Skies is a strategy game about building a fleet of airships and land vehicles, then directing them through large battles. Its central appeal is the link between workshop decisions and battlefield tactics: each craft is assembled from modules for weapons, armour, structures, equipment and resources, with layouts shaping how the fleet can fight.
Battles are commanded at a high level rather than described as direct piloting. Fleets can swoop, soar, ram and board, while destructible ships and terrain may catch fire, explode, break apart or fall. The vehicles also have a fine-grained visual identity, with sailors moving about to perform their individual tasks. Encounters can include fantastical opponents such as aerial kraken, mechs, spiders and clockwork wasps.
The game offers distinct ways to put those designs to use: bespoke Missions, including player-created ones; Conquest, where players build an empire; and online or LAN Multiplayer matches. The core through-line remains designing vehicles and choosing tactics for a changing battlefield.
