Age of Steel: Recharge casts you as an Alliance commander in a world battered by resource shortages and years of war. The Alliance is fighting the Opposition, a non-governmental army that seeks to destroy the old civilization in pursuit of a new society. Your mission is to take control of bases in hot spots and resist the enemy’s advance, giving the strategy a clear campaign-level conflict rather than a detached series of battles.
At each base, development is central to the fight: expanding it unlocks new units, turrets and support methods, and may ultimately turn the installation into a flying fortress. You can field tanks, aircraft and ships against enemy forces and powerful bosses, then improve units’ defensive traits and fighting abilities. That combination of base growth and force upgrades gives players concrete strategic choices as they push back against the Opposition.
The game offers a 14-level campaign alongside Survival mode, so its play format spans a structured sequence of missions and a separate survival option.
