AFTERBLAST casts players as an immortal hunter sent to the Evil God’s realm to save their home planet. Its action revolves around fighting monster hordes and surviving projectile-heavy battles while searching for equipment infused with magic. Rather than offering just one route through that premise, the game presents two distinct formats: one portal leads deeper into the planet toward its god, while another opens onto large maps where players hold off invading forces.
Combat adds movement and tactical choices to the monster-slaying. A chain hook helps players move faster and finish weakened enemies, while destructible elements can be targeted to weaken foes. Weapons found during each run have individual skills, and magic chests supply upgrades, perks, items, and weapons. Rescued companions assist on the journey, and crystals collected during fights support permanent upgrades. Boss Souls raise the difficulty and unlock further enemies, challenges, weapons, and items, linking progression to the game’s major encounters.
AFTERBLAST supports solo play as well as co-op, where players can coordinate builds and strategies and share loot. Its mix of run-based equipment, persistent upgrades, boss-driven escalation, and cooperative combat makes the count a snapshot of participation in a game built around both individual survival and shared hunts.
