Its combat ranges from attacks near skyscrapers to engagements at higher altitude, while aircraft can be torn apart in explosive encounters. That emphasis on visible destruction gives the flight action a forceful, close-quarters character, set against a globe-spanning conflict.
The game’s flight action emphasizes quick maneuvering, positioning and pinpoint targeting. Its Close-range Assault system centers on high-speed, one-on-one encounters, and the aircraft roster extends beyond conventional planes to include attack helicopters. It also includes Door Gunner gameplay, hovering attacks and attacks from above, giving the design several ways to approach aerial combat without suggesting that every encounter uses the same aircraft or tactics.
The game supports both single-player and online multiplayer, with online play listed for up to 16 players. One named mode, Capital Conquest, pits opposing teams against one another as they fight to protect or take control of famous capitals.
