A Total War Saga: TROY frames the conflict around Paris’s flight from Sparta with Queen Helen and Menelaus’s vow to bring her home. Players fight to save or conquer Troy as one of eight heroes, including Achilles, Hector, Paris, and Menelaus. The legendary cast gives the campaign a personal dimension, while its setting reaches across a recreation of the Bronze Age Mediterranean.
The strategy extends beyond battles: players lead armies across the Aegean, recruit special units inspired by Greek myth, and build an empire through statecraft and diplomacy as well as warfare. That combination makes the game’s design about competing at several scales, from deploying forces against ferocious foes to pursuing political and territorial ambitions. Mythic inspiration sits alongside an explicitly historical setting rather than replacing its strategic focus.
