Set after King Robert Baratheon’s death, this strategy game casts players as Great Houses competing to take King’s Landing and claim the Iron Throne. Its map-wide struggle is bounded by ten rounds, making territorial control a race as well as a test of force. Scarce resources and vulnerable troops give each expansion decision weight: occupying strategic areas matters, but an army can be costly to commit recklessly.
The central tension comes from orders chosen in secret for each army. Players can arrange support, seek peace or alliances, then betray a partner when advantage shifts; battles also draw on notable characters from each house. Influence tracks add another contest, as power tokens are wagered for the Iron Throne, Messenger Raven and Valyrian steel tokens, whose advantages can shape political and military decisions. Meanwhile, every house must contribute power tokens to the Night’s Watch against the approaching wildlings, creating a shared danger amid the rivalry.
This digital adaptation supports online play for up to six players, or local play with a single human player and up to five AI opponents. The defining challenge is not simply to take land, but to balance military orders, shifting alliances and collective defense before the struggle for the crown ends. The adaptation is based on Fantasy Flight Games’ strategy board game and George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels.
