In 1000xRESIST, humanity’s survivors live underground a thousand years after alien Occupants brought a deadly disease to Earth. The player is Watcher, a young member of a society of clones led by the immortal Iris, known as the ALLMOTHER. When Watcher’s sister Fixer is executed after claiming the ALLMOTHER has lied, Watcher must investigate the truth and question the beliefs that shape life in the Orchard.
The investigation unfolds through Communions, in which Watcher relives and interprets the ALLMOTHER’s memories. Players revisit pivotal moments across her life, moving between points in time to solve puzzles and reach hidden areas. Between these sequences, the Orchard serves as an underground hub for exploration, conversations with other characters and further discoveries. The game shifts among third-person adventure, visual novel and first-person walking simulator, using changes in perspective as part of its storytelling design.
That blend of exploration, puzzle-solving and narrative gives the game a distinctly single-player shape: its focus is on Watcher’s personal investigation, rather than shared or competitive play.
