Supermarket Together: Embracing the Festive Spirit with Winter Event and Exciting Updates

Supermarket Together, the charming and community-driven supermarket simulation game, continues to captivate its player base, currently averaging around 3,280 active players. With its unique blend of cooperative gameplay and detailed store management, the game has steadily expanded its content and features. The latest updates bring a fresh wave of seasonal cheer, new gameplay elements, and quality-of-life improvements that promise to enrich the player experience as the holiday season approaches.

Winter Event Kicks Off: Meet Mr. Grusch and Collect Festive Brooms

The highlight of the newest update is undoubtedly the Winter Event, which immerses players in a cozy, Christmas-themed atmosphere. Returning from last year’s festivities is the enigmatic Mr. Grusch, a mysterious character who adds an intriguing layer of interaction to the event. To summon Mr. Grusch, players need to place the special prop called the Abnormally Tall Mailbox, found in the Christmas tab, and then patiently wait until 21:00 in-game time to witness any suspicious activity. This clever mechanic encourages players to engage with the game world more deeply and adds an element of anticipation and surprise.

As with previous events, the Winter Event will last for at least a couple of weeks, giving all players ample opportunity to collect the new event-exclusive items. Among these are five brand-new broom skins, each with its own unique flair: the Bubblemaker, 2026Broom, Featherfall, Starshine, and Snowglobe. These brooms not only serve as fun cosmetic upgrades but also act as tokens for event progression. Players will also notice a smaller chance to obtain tokens from last year’s event brooms, allowing collectors to complete or expand their collections.

Seasonal Products and Festive Decorations Enhance the Holiday Feel

In addition to the brooms, the update introduces six new Christmas-themed products that players can stock in their supermarkets. These include cozy holiday staples such as Eggnog, Mulled Wine, and a Gingerbread Cookies Jar, alongside a delightful gingerbread home and two chocolate jars shaped like a snowman and Santa Claus. These products not only boost the seasonal ambiance but also offer new opportunities for strategic merchandising during the event period.

To complement the festive goods, the update adds approximately 30 new pixel art items in the newly created Freaky Decor tab. This experimental tab caters to players who enjoy more eccentric and nerdy decoration styles, featuring mini cubic animals and pixel cube props that can be customized with 11 new materials themed around the Freaky Decor cubes. These additions allow for greater creativity and personalization, enabling players to craft supermarkets that truly reflect their style and holiday spirit.

Moreover, a new pack of hats called the Christmas Emojis Partners has been added, giving players fresh options to customize their avatars with festive flair. These cosmetic items further enhance player engagement and community identity during the event.

Manufacturing Department: A Glimpse into Upcoming Features

While the Winter Event brings immediate excitement, the update also offers a sneak peek at the long-anticipated manufacturing department. Although not yet fully functional, players will notice manufacturing department icons appearing on the space acquisition board, though these cannot be interacted with yet. Similarly, a manufacturing tab has been introduced with some elements present, but they remain unplaceable until the department’s implementation is complete.

The developers have shared that the manufacturing department is still missing key features, particularly the ability for customers and employees to recognize and interact with the new role. This transparency about the development process helps manage player expectations while building anticipation for the mid-December update, which aims to finally bring this feature to life. Patience will be rewarded as this addition promises to deepen gameplay complexity and open new avenues for supermarket management.

Post-Halloween Patch: Organizing Furniture and Fixing Bugs

Before diving fully into the Winter Event, the game also received a smaller patch marking the end of the Halloween event. The Whimsical Pumpkin prop can no longer be placed, though any already placed pumpkins will remain in players’ stores without any active effects. This patch also introduced 12 new shelves for basic products, expanding players’ options for store layout and inventory management.

To improve organization within the builder interface, the main Builder tab has been renamed to Essential Furniture, and a new Secondary Furniture tab has been added to house the newly introduced shelves as well as some older secondary shelves. This restructuring helps streamline the building experience, making it easier for players to find and place furniture items efficiently.

The experimental Freaky Decor tab, mentioned earlier, was also introduced in this patch, signaling the developers’ commitment to offering more niche and creative decoration options. Additionally, customers now buy seasonal Halloween products more frequently during autumn, enhancing the thematic immersion throughout the year.

Quality-of-Life Improvements and Bug Fixes

Alongside new content, the update addressed several bugs and made quality-of-life improvements. The ceiling sign color was adjusted to better match the Seasonal category, and the color for alcoholic products was corrected for consistency. Reverse vending machines now feature sound effects and small animations when customers use them, adding polish and immersion to the shopping experience.

Several localization issues were resolved, including fixing the newspaper stand calendar, which previously skipped day 28 and caused season display errors. The update also corrected employee leveling visibility for connected clients and resolved localization errors that caused seasons to appear as "LocError" in French, Spanish, and Hungarian versions. These fixes contribute to a smoother and more accessible gameplay experience across different languages and regions.

Looking Ahead: Anticipation for Mid-December Update

With the Winter Event in full swing and the manufacturing department on the horizon, Supermarket Together is poised for an exciting end to the year. The developers’ transparent communication about ongoing features and their commitment to regular updates foster a strong community spirit and keep players engaged. The upcoming mid-December update is highly anticipated, as it promises to introduce the manufacturing department in full, adding new dimensions to supermarket management and employee roles.

For now, players are encouraged to dive into the Winter Event, collect festive brooms, decorate their stores with quirky new items, and enjoy the cozy holiday atmosphere. With a blend of seasonal charm, new gameplay mechanics, and thoughtful improvements, Supermarket Together continues to be a delightful destination for players seeking cooperative fun and creative expression in a bustling supermarket setting.
